regensburg week #2

ever since i was born, ive been traveling back n forth from new york to my motherland barcelona visiting my father and friends. its so goddamn difficult to describe living in europe, but i recommend everyone gives it a try for a bit. not only because of its romantic scenery, peaceful landscapes or classy nightlife, but also because i honestly think traveling outside one's hometown can completely change a persons whole perception on life and view the world in a different way. so as a sophomore college student trying to still find myself, i decided to change my yearly routine of spending the summers in spain and try something entirely new. without a clue of which career path to take, ive always had one thing in mind... i want to travel. i am currently in germany studying the german language to hopefully reach my goal of becoming quadrilingual, after that maybe multilingual. so far it has been a good two weeks in regensburg, germany and i can finally have a decent conversation with the deutch. all i can say is that this is one hell of a town. the second i got here all i could see was a huge cathedral chillen in the middle of this small town, later as i was walking in search of my residence i noticed nothing but bikes and solar panels everywhere i turned. regensburg is a big university town which explains the loud and live crowds at night drinking their 1/2 liter mugs of beer. i just found out today that the average german drinks about 150 liters of beer a year! yet the people are so good looking, where are those beer bellies? a few days ago i couldnt help myself and bought a bike so i could wander outside of town more, take more photographs and find a good spot to relax and dive in the river. cant wait to see what happens this weekend. it feels so good to be independent and on your own once in a while, especially without a phone (not to mention facebook). just me and my nikons. hopefully i will get the chance tomorrow to develop my film and post them up but right now im off to bed, gotta wake up early for class tomorrow to learn some more german... gute nacht!
